FABRIC & YARN SALE Update

The F&Y Sale started partly as a source for fabrics to create items for the BB&B sale.  Over time it has increased in size and last year sold over $140,000 of fabric, yarn, notions, craft items and books and patterns.   With the start of 2025 the preparation for the F&Y Sale now goes into high gear. The fun begins!  

Committee Meetings
This is the group that works to make the sale successful. We do all the planning and organizing. The area leads, the finance committee, the people in charge of advertising, volunteer coordinator, charity coordinator, the first aid coordinator, and the list goes on.

How can you help?

  • We need a secretary to record minutes at the committee meetings.
  • Are you a technology wiz for working with social media for advertising both before and during the sale? Can you take pictures during the set up and the sale to post on social media?
  • We need certified first aid people.  Our rental contract requires someone with first aid to be available at each of the shifts.
  • We always need more people to help with storage and sorting of fabric. Quilting fabric sorting days will be started in January.

Volunteer sign up for working set up and sale days will happen around April 1.

SET UP and SALE DATES

  • Rotary pick up from Storage Homes  – Morning of Saturday April 26
  • Donation Drop off  – Saturday April 26th 1:00 to 4:00 at Garrison Curling Club
  • Set up with volunteers – Monday April 26 to Thursday May 1
  • Sale Days – Friday May 2 – Sunday May 4
  • Final clean up –  Monday May 5 10 AM to 1 PM

We are working to raise money for the Stephen Lewis Foundation but we are also working to support groups here in Calgary.  We are not going to raise fabric prices this year because we want to help people here who can benefit from the best fabric sale ever!
