UJAMAA BAGETTES is a small sub-set of UJAMAA GRANDMAS, raising funds through the sale of patterns and finished products. Proceeds from the sale of UJAMAA BAGETTES patterns are used to offset some of the costs of pattern testing and bag production. The remainder becomes part of UJAMAA GRANDMAS donation to the Stephen Lewis Foundation Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign which supports African grandmothers and their AIDS-orphaned grandchildren.
BAGETTES also sell their finished bags at the UJAMAA GRANDMAS annual BAGS, BABIES & BEYOND in Calgary, Alberta. Proceeds of this sale also go to the Stephen Lewis Foundation Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign.
